Hi all.

We want to enforce a security policy where a user's corporate laptop automatically locks itself the moment they walk away from their desk with their paired corporate smartphone. How does Windows 11 Dynamic Lock calculate this distance, and can we adjust the signal attenuation threshold via registry or MDM to prevent premature locking

Hi Mikko Hämäläinen,

Regarding your question about tweaking the precision to prevent premature locking, Microsoft does not expose native administrative command switches, registry keys or MDM configuration service provider parameters to adjust the raw RSSI signal attenuation thresholds. The system level sensitivity and distance parsing properties are managed strictly by internal Windows kernel components and the specific OEM hardware driver stack of your machine wireless card. If your development teams are experiencing premature session disconnects due to environmental signal dampening, the recommended enterprise approach is to ensure the latest firmware is deployed to your wireless chipsets or manage the timeout behaviors via standard power and display lock group policies.
