Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.
You normally need the full Epson printer/scanner software, not just the basic Windows printer driver.
If you haven't tried anything yet:
- Go to the official Epson Support website.
- Search for WF-4820.
- Choose Windows 11 if it does not detect it automatically.
- Download and install the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package.
- After installing, open Epson ScanSmart or Epson Scan 2 and try scanning from there.
If the printer is wireless, make sure the laptop and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If it is USB, plug it in directly and avoid using a hub for now.
If issue still persists, to help narrow down the issue:
- Are you connecting the WF-4820 by Wi-Fi or USB?
- Can you already print from the laptop, and only scanning is not set up?
- Do you get any error when you open Epson ScanSmart or Epson Scan 2?
