Good morning,

Currently my subscription is managed by [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed] and I need to leave his subscription and have my own. I've tried to do this and when I do it says that I've left but yet when I refresh the page it still shows that I am attached to his subscription. Please assist. Thank you.

Also you may contact my IT consultant at [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]

Thank you!

    Hello Eugene Fike

I understand you’re trying to leave a Microsoft 365 subscription that is currently being shared with you so you can start your own subscription.

Please first make sure you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account that is receiving the shared subscription, then go to the Microsoft 365 sharing page and choose the option to leave or stop using the shared subscription.

If you are not the subscription owner, you should still be able to view who is sharing Microsoft 365 with you and choose to leave the shared subscription from the sharing page.

If it says you have left but the page still shows you attached after refreshing, try these quick checks next:

    1. Sign out of all Microsoft account pages, then sign back in.
    2. Try the same page in a private/incognito browser window.
    3. Check whether you are also part of the subscription owner’s Microsoft family group at the Family Safety page. Leaving or being removed from the family group can also remove access to shared Microsoft 365 benefits.
    4. If the option does not stay applied, ask the subscription owner/family organizer to stop sharing the subscription with you or remove you from the family group. Subscription owners can stop sharing from the Microsoft account Services > Sharing page.

Please note that once the shared subscription is removed, your Microsoft 365 benefits from that plan will end. Your files should remain intact, but you may lose the extra OneDrive storage and full desktop app editing benefits until your own subscription is active.

I hope this helps you separate your account smoothly and set up your own subscription.

Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.
