Activation limit reached after only adding Word after buying Office Professional Plus 2024, How do I activate the other software elements?

Hi Rick,

Office Professional Plus 2024 is a volume licence version of Office used by large organizations, it is not a consumer licence version of Office, where did you purchase that Office licence, was that from an online retailer or Groupon?

If you are a private user, then you should contact the retailer to get a full refund for that Office licence, they should not be selling that type of Office licence to the general public.

    Hey Rick,

    If you need to increase your MAK activations you can try one of the routes below depending on where you purchased your licenses from:

    1. If the licenses are Volume Licensing (MAK/KMS under a VL agreement) Use the Volume Licensing support channel to request a MAK activation limit increase:
      • Go to the Volume Licensing support web form (requires VL Administrator/Key Administrator/Key Viewer role).
      • Provide the following in the request:
      1. Agreement/Enrollment Number or License ID and Authorization
      2. Product name (for example, Windows Server 2022 Standard/Datacenter, including edition and version)
      3. Last five characters of the product key
      4. Number of additional activations required and business justification (for example, downgrade use from Windows Server 2025 with 16 licensed servers, 14 already activated, need remaining activations). This is the documented method to request a MAK activation limit increase for Volume Licensing.
    2. If the licenses are CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) MAK keys The CSP partner (Admin agent) must open a support ticket in Partner Center to request more activations:
      • In Partner Center, open a support ticket for CSP software key activations.
      • Include:
      1. First 5 digits of the impacted product key (not the full key) or PKID
      2. Product, version, edition (Windows Server 2022 with downgrade rights from 2025)
      3. Business justification (for example, valid downgrade deployment for 16 licensed servers)
      4. Activation quantity requested (how many more activations are needed) CSP supports MAK keys only; KMS keys are not supported in CSP.
