Why is Word changing my documents after they are saved on my iMac? I save them and then when I open them they have changed. The formatting is different as well as the fonts & sizes of fonts. All photos and graphics are gone.

Make sure you are using Print Layout View. Everything looks different in other views & graphic objects don't display in Draft or Outline view. Use the View menu, the View tab of the Ribbon or the View Shortcuts on the Status Bar to select the correct view.

Also, be sure you are saving in the .docx file type.

If you need further assistance be sure to include the current Version Numbers of both macOS & Office as well as a supporting screenshot of the document window.

    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

You need to create a test document. Open a new word file and insert a picture then you can type some formatted text. You need to save as .docx to your desktop. Once saved, close Word and reopen the file.

Also, can you tell me where the problematic file is saved, is it on the cloud, OneDrive, external drive or local drive?
