We're currently gathering pricing information for SQL Server as we're planning to purchase a license. If anyone has the latest pricing for the SQL Server Standard and Enterprise editions, could you please share it? Thanks!

the price depends on license model. Either you buy a core license (based on the number of cores the hosting machine has) or buy a CAL license for every user/device (either direct access or through an application). For internet use, only the core model is supported.

If you buy core license you buy enough 2 core packs that all the cores the hosting machine are covered. If hosted in a virtual machine, the number of cores in the virtual machine. The minimum is 4 cores even for a one core machine.

If you buy enterprise you should also get a software assurance plan.

The AI gave you the pricing for SQL 2022 which is somewhat funny since now that SQL 2025 is out, it is probably not even possible to buy to SQL 2022. I never buy SQL Server myself, so I don't know any prices. However, I seem to recall that Microsoft announced that pricing would not change with the new release. Thus, the answer from the AI are likely to be correct.
