    1

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Update and Security - Troubleshoot

    Click 'Show Additional Troubleshooters'

Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter from the resulting page

Check if Bluetooth is then working

    2

If not, open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

At the top of Device Manager, choose View - Show Hidden Devices

Does that show hidden Bluetooth device(s)

if so, right click and uninstall that

    Restart your PC

Check if Bluetooth is then working

    3

If Bluetooth is still not working, go to the support page for your PC on the

manufacturers website, then from there, download and install the Bluetooth device drivers they recommend.

If you have any difficulty locating that support page, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

If your Bluetooth suddenly disappeared from Device Manager, it's usually not because the Bluetooth app was removed. More often, Windows has stopped detecting the Bluetooth adapter due to a driver issue or, in some cases, a hardware problem.

The first thing I'd recommend is restarting your computer. It sounds simple, but sometimes the Bluetooth adapter just fails to initialize properly, and a restart brings it back.

If that doesn't help, open Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices, and see if the Bluetooth adapter appears. If it does, try right-clicking it and selecting Update driver. If you see an unknown device with a warning icon, that could also be your Bluetooth adapter.

You can also try selecting Action > Scan for hardware changes in Device Manager. Windows will check for any hardware that's connected but not currently detected.

If the adapter still doesn't appear, the next step is to reinstall the Bluetooth driver. The easiest way is to download the latest Bluetooth driver from your computer manufacturer's support website. Just search for your computer model, download the Bluetooth driver for your version of Windows, install it, and restart your PC.

It's also worth checking Windows Update, including the Optional updates section, as Windows sometimes offers updated Bluetooth drivers there.

If Bluetooth is completely missing from Device Manager—even after showing hidden devices and scanning for hardware changes—it could mean the adapter has been disabled in the BIOS, the driver has become corrupted, or the Bluetooth hardware itself has developed a fault.
