Excel missing Baguet Script font

About a year ago I made several Excel spreadsheets using the font "Baguet Script". This was a standard font included in the Microsoft 365 software. I did not download or purchase it from the internet. Today while updating the same documents I noticed the font looked off. Baguet Script was still showing in the font type box, but wasn't showing in the cells properly. When I hit the font drop down menu Baguet Script wasn't in the list. Where is it?

I have looked through multiple pages in Microsoft support, have been redirected to old forums and back again, and had AI tell me to look for an optional feature that isn't even on my system.

This issue is forcing me to recreate documents and readjust sizing - it's a pain in the backside and a huge waste of time!

    Based on the symptoms described, this does not appear to be an Excel-specific issue. It is more likely that Baguet Script was being provided as an Office cloud font and is no longer available to your current Microsoft 365 installation, resulting in font substitution. Existing cells can continue to display the font name even when the actual font is unavailable, causing Excel to render the text with a different font instead.

    When a cloud font becomes unavailable, fails to sync, or is removed from the available font catalog, Office can retain the font name in existing documents while displaying the content with a replacement font.

    I recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Verify whether Baguet Script is missing in all Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), not just Excel.
    2. Ensure Microsoft 365 is fully up to date.
    3. Sign out of Office and sign back in to refresh cloud font synchronization.
    4. Perform an Office Quick Repair (Settings > Apps > Microsoft 365 > Modify > Quick Repair).
    5. If available, install a licensed local copy of Baguet Script to see whether Excel resumes rendering the workbook correctly.
