Microsoft 365 and Defender

Does my Microsoft 365 include Defender? Do I need to download it or sign up for it if it does.

Hello

Microsoft 365 Personal, Family and Premium all include Defender. The only plan that doesn't is the Basic plan.

On a Windows 10 or 11 computer, the actual antivirus is Microsoft Defender Antivirus, found under Windows Security > Virus & threat protection. It is already built into Windows and works even without Microsoft 365.

The Microsoft Defender app included with Microsoft 365 Personal provides additional security monitoring and lets you view protection across your Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices.

To fully experience all features that come with, you can download the app onto your devices.
