Hello,

We are experiencing an issue with the AI Visibility feature in Microsoft Clarity.

Our main website does not show any cited pages in the AI Visibility overview. Even when selecting a longer date range, no citation data is displayed.

Could you please help us understand:

  • Whether this indicates a configuration issue,
  • Whether AI Visibility has been enabled correctly for our project,
  • Or whether no citations have been detected yet?

Project ID: n7mfeg3i6i
Website: www.take-e-way.de

I appreciate your support.

Best regards,
Marco Pagliari

    Hello,

    Thank you for your response.

The AI Visibility dashboard is available and displays data correctly. Only the My cited pages section is empty.

Could you please confirm whether this simply means that no citations have been detected for our domain yet, or whether there is an issue with citation data collection for this project?

Additionally, is there a way for a project administrator to verify the domain status and confirm that the domain ownership verification has been completed successfully?

    Best regards,
    Marco

For the Citation dashboard to show cited pages, the domain for the Clarity project must first be verified by a project administrator. Verification can be completed by one of these methods:

    1. Install the Microsoft Clarity tracking code on the website.
    2. Connect the domain through Google Search Console (GSC).
    3. Connect the domain through Bing Webmaster Tools (BWT).

After the platform confirms domain ownership, verification is typically completed automatically and the Citation dashboard becomes available.

If the dashboard is already available but My cited pages shows no data, that means no pages from the domain were referenced in AI-generated answers for the selected period. The dashboard tracks citation activity in AI-generated answers only. It does not measure traditional search rankings, impressions, or click-through rates.

    Checks to perform:

    1. In Clarity, open the project and go to AI Visibility -> Citation.
    2. Confirm the domain has been verified by a project administrator.
    3. Review a wider date range.
    4. Check whether other citation metrics such as Page citations, Share of authority, or Grounding queries also show no data.
      • If all of these are blank, the most likely explanation is that no citations have been detected yet for that period.
      • If the Citation dashboard itself is unavailable, domain verification is the prerequisite to complete.

    Related timing behavior:

    • Citation data is available once the site is analyzed.
    • Citation insights are available directly in Clarity and do not require the CDN or edge-provider connection used for Bot Activity.

AI-generated content may be incorrect. Read our transparency notes for more information.
