SharePoint “See all” button moved below document library and replaced with “Create or upload”

Question

I recently noticed a change to document library web parts on SharePoint pages.

Previously, the See all link appeared in the upper-right corner of each document library. It was visually prominent, matched the site’s accent color, and had been in that location for several years.

That location has now been replaced by a Create or upload button. The former See all action has been renamed See full library and moved below the file list, where it appears as a smaller, lower-contrast button.

In my day-to-day work, I open the full library view constantly, while I rarely use a separate button to create folders or upload files. Files can already be uploaded by dragging and dropping them, and the library itself provides other ways to create content. As a result, this change has replaced a frequently used navigation action with a much less frequently used action in the exact location where users have developed years of muscle memory.

Is there any supported way to restore the previous layout or customize which action appears in the upper-right corner of the document library web part?

I would also appreciate any explanation of the intended usability benefit behind this change, since it currently makes navigation less efficient for my workflow.

Hi AJ Renfro,

From what I understand, you can perform a Create or upload action directly within the web part experience, while the action to open the full library is now presented as See full library. Document Library web part supports adding and uploading files directly from the page and that users can navigate to the full library from the web part**.**

However, regarding the intended usability benefit, I'm unable to find any configuration settings to revert this interface change.

If this change has a significant impact on your workflow, I recommend submitting feedback through the SharePoint feedback portal. Product teams often review feedback related to navigation changes, especially when they affect established usage patterns and accessibility of common actions.
