    Hello becky williams

Thank you for your post. I’m sorry to hear that Teams is unable to detect your microphone, even after updating your laptop.

To help me better understand the scope of the issue, could you please confirm:

1/ Whether the microphone works correctly in other applications, such as Zoom, Google Meet, or your web browser?

2/ Whether you are using the laptop’s built-in microphone or an external headset or Bluetooth device.

3/ In Teams > Settings > Devices, does any device appear under the "Microphone" dropdown?

4/ Are you currently using the Teams desktop application or Teams in a web browser? If you are using the desktop application, please also test through Teams on the web and let me know whether you experience the same issue there.

5/ Please share a screenshot showing the complete “device or microphone not found” message, after hiding any personal or organizational information.

6/ Please also confirm whether the laptop is managed by your company, as an organizational policy may affect microphone permissions.

In the meantime, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    Check Windows microphone permissions

Please go to Settings > Devices in Teams and confirm that the correct microphone is selected. After that, try using the “Make a test call” feature to see if your voice is being detected there. This will help confirm whether Teams is able to recognize your microphone input.

Check the audio settings in Teams

Open Teams > Settings > Devices and confirm that the correct microphone is selected from the dropdown menu. After selecting it, use "Make a test call" to check whether Teams can detect and record your voice. This will help determine whether Teams recognizes the microphone input outside an actual meeting.

Please share the results of these checks so I can better understand whether the problem is related to the microphone itself, Windows permissions, the Teams application, or an organizational policy.

    Kind regards,
