I get directions to go to cookies and site permissions, but they're not listed. Site permissions show what's allowed but not how to change it. I have three sites I've visited that are obvious malware. What should I do?

Microsoft Edge | Other | Windows 11

    Hi, @leonard

Visiting a suspicious site does not necessarily mean malware was installed, but do not open those sites again.

    In Edge, go to:

    • Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All sites
    • Select each suspicious site, then reset its permissions or set Notifications to Block.

    Next, go to:

    • Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Cookies > See all cookies and site data
    • Search for each site and remove its stored data.
    • Then open Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Scan options and run a Full scan. Also check Edge extensions and remove anything you do not recognize.

Are you receiving pop-ups or notifications from these sites even when Edge is closed? Did you download a file, install anything, or enter a password on any of them?
