I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017) running macOS Monterey 12.7.6. I have an active Microsoft 365 subscription. I accidentally uninstalled Office after trying to resolve an update issue. When I previously tried to update Office, I received "Update Required" followed by "This software requires macOS 14.0 or later."

I now need to reinstall Microsoft 365, but the installer available from my Microsoft account requires macOS 14 and won't work on my Mac.

Can you provide the official Microsoft installer (or a direct download link) for the last version of Microsoft 365/Office that is compatible with macOS Monterey 12.7.6 (Office 16.88 or 16.89)? Please provide only an official Microsoft download link.

For macOS Monterey 12, Microsoft 365 is no longer supported for current updates.

The August 2024 release, version 16.88, was the final Office build supporting Monterey. An existing installation may continue to work, but it will not receive security updates, fixes, or new features. Current Microsoft 365 and Office 2024 installations require macOS Sonoma 14 or later.

You will need to uninstall it. And install the downgraded version (16.88) here: https://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/C1297A47-86C4-4C1F-97FA-950631F94777/MacAutoupdate/Microsoft_365_and_Office_16.88.24081116_Installer.pkg?apid=ets
