Can you please add a delete PROMT to OneNote before deleting files, my company uses onenote everyday and have over 4gb of onenote files shared across 13 employees and it is far to easy to accidentally delete pages and happens too often. I have complained via the support button on OneNote for the last 6 months but to no avail. It can't be that hard to do

Thank you for reaching out, and I completely understand your concern. When multiple team members actively collaborate in OneNote, accidentally deleting pages can disrupt your workflow, and having a safety prompt before deletion would be a valuable feature.

Currently, OneNote does not feature a pop-up confirmation prompt before deleting a page or section. Deletions are designed to happen instantly to keep note-taking quick, but the content is automatically moved to a safety net rather than permanently lost.

If a page is accidentally deleted by anyone on your team, you can instantly restore it:

Open the shared notebook in OneNote.
Go to the History tab on the ribbon menu.
Click on Notebook Recycle Bin (or Deleted Notes).
Locate the missing page, right-click it, and select Move or Copy... to restore it to its original section.

Note: Deleted items remain in the Recycle Bin for 60 days before being permanently removed, giving your team ample time to recover lost work.

While I don't have direct control over software design changes, customer feedback is the primary driver for Microsoft feature updates. To ensure your request reaches the product engineering team directly, please submit it through the official feedback portal:

Go to the Ideas · Community for OneNote.
Click Submit feedback and describe your request (e.g., "Add an optional confirmation prompt before deleting pages/sections").
Once posted, share the link with your 13 colleagues so they can upvote it.

Engineering teams prioritize feature requests on the Feedback Portal based on community upvotes and business impact.

Yes I am fully aware you can restore pages because I called to do it at least once a week because you need a desktop to do it, I have submitted a request on that forum 2 months ago and many times through the one note app. Because one of our employees is left handed and constantly hits the delete button accidentally

You're absolutely right that deleted pages can be restored, but as you've pointed out, having to recover content after accidental deletions is not the same as preventing the deletion from happening in the first place. For teams that collaborate heavily in shared notebooks, a confirmation prompt before deleting a page or section could help reduce these accidental incidents, particularly in situations like the one you described.

Unfortunately, as community moderators, we don't have visibility into feature request status or the ability to influence product design decisions directly. From the information currently available, OneNote still does not provide an option to enable a deletion confirmation prompt before pages or sections are removed.

I truly appreciate that you've already raised this through the app and in the forums. Continued feedback through the official OneNote feedback portal remains the best way to ensure the product team can review and track customer demand for this feature.
