Microsoft Office Folder Missing in program files

I have windows 10 laptop excel (Xlsx) is not opening, asking an aap to open the file, but not able to find Microsoft office folder in program files.

The missing “Microsoft Office” folder does not always mean Office is gone. Newer Office versions are often installed under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16, or under Program Files (x86) for 32-bit Office.

First, open Start and search for Excel.

If Excel appears, open Settings > Apps > Apps & features, select Microsoft 365/Office, choose Modify, then run Online Repair. If Excel does not appear in Start or Apps & features, Office is probably not installed. Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the Office licence and reinstall it from https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps
