Teladvance is Microsoft's official trade-in partner in the US — not a fake company. It's confirmed on Microsoft's own support pages.
However, delayed/missing payments are a real, recurring complaint — BBB records show a consistent pattern: device accepted → email promising payout in ~2 weeks → then silence or vague responses when customers follow up. This looks more like processing backlog/poor customer service than a deliberate scheme in most cases.
The "ACH/PayPal login" concern is a separate issue worth caution on. Legitimate Teladvance payouts only require account details (bank routing/account number, or PayPal email) — never your actual login/password. If someone was asked for login credentials, especially via a link outside microsoft.teladvance.com, that's a phishing red flag, not standard Teladvance process.
