Microsoft has released a fix for this flaw in their April 2026 Security Update. Please download and install the patch from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Where can I get the download file?

As I said last night: The most recent security patch for SQL 2019 is found here: https://support.microsoft.com/help/5063757

This update was released a few weeks ago in July, and it includes the fixes in the April update.

If you want a link for a download for a different version of SQL Server, please let us know. Or use the information that Marcin provided.

Tips for searching the Microsoft Update Catalog

The Microsoft Update Catalog lets you search on a variety of update fields and categories. These include the update title, description, applicable products, classifications, and knowledge base articles (e.g. KB9123456). When searching for hardware updates ("drivers"), you can also search for driver model, manufacturer, class, or a 4-part hardware id (e.g "PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1677&SUBSYS_01AD1028").You can narrow the scope of your search by adding additional search terms.

Here's how to download & install updates manually:

    1. You can visit catalog.update.microsoft.com website. This is official Microsoft website.
    2. In the search box, type KB number for update failing on your device.
    3. From search results, select correct version of update.
    4. Download it as .msu file and then you can install it offline as well.
    5. Once install, check update history, it should show updates as installed.
