Office 2021 LTSC Pro crashes when inserting borders in Word

Question

Hi,

If anyone has installed Office 2021 LTSC and is using Word, could you click the Design tab then Page Borders and see if the program closes? I'm testing the product for deployment in my school environment and there seems to be an issue with WWLIB.DLL

There is nothing mentioned on the Web of anyone else having this issue, I only clicked it to see what was different.

Quite a bit of info regarding the particular DLL on the web but nothing relating to this version of Word.

I installed volume licensed version of Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 via ODT, its version is Version 2108 (Build 14332.20145), and I could not reproduce your issue.

There may be some reasons for the error message you said, such as 3rd-party COM add-ins, the Additional Settings under Formats settings under Region and etc. It needs troubleshootings in a problematic use environment.

I'm having the same issues over here:

No solution yet but it doesn't seem to be down to builds pushed out over MDT as we did some testing on a range of vanilla ISOs downloaded direct from the MS site. Office 2019 and Office 365 works fine just 2021 LTSC doesn't want to play ball

I had the same issue when inserting page borders and managed to get it working by going into Option -> General and changing the "When using multiple displays" option to "Optimise for compatibility".

I restarted Word then tried again and it worked. After that I changed it back again, just to see what would happen and after restarting Word, it still works.
