    1

What happened on your PC before Windows was not activated.

    2

Where did you get your Windows licence was that pre-installed on the PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer, and if so, do you have the product key?

Or is your Windows licence based on a previous Windows 7 or 8 licence?

    3

Click your Start Button, type cmd then right click Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

Run or paste this command and hit Enter:

    slmgr.vbs /dlv

Please post a screenshot of the resulting dialog

To fix the "product key already used" error, you must transfer the license through the Activation Troubleshooter or activate it via phone. This error usually occurs because Microsoft's activation servers still see the key attached to your old PC or previous hardware configuration.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Run the Activation Troubleshooter

If your original license is a Retail copy linked to your Microsoft Account, Windows can transfer it automatically.

    1. Select Start > Settings > System > Activation.
    2. Click Troubleshoot (you must be signed in as an Administrator).
    3. Select "I changed hardware on this device recently".
    4. Sign in with your Microsoft Account credentials when prompted.
    5. Select your current device from the list and click Activate.
