I pay Microsoft annually, last charge was 99.99 that posted on 4/2/2026.
When I go to Microsoft 365 it gives me two options: Modify or Uninstall.....What I noted was that on 7/24/26 I now have a Microsoft 365 CoPilot and also on 7/27/26 I now have a CoPilot App??? Could this be my problem in the Microsoft 365 was overridden??
I do not have this problem in opening my Word file
Thank you for letting me know.
The Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot apps should not override Excel. They may have appeared after a recent Microsoft 365 update, but Excel should still remain installed.
Since Word opens normally, this looks more like an Excel-specific problem rather than a subscription issue.
Please select Modify. Then choose Quick Repair and let it finish. Do not select Uninstall.
Quick Repair will not delete your Word or Excel files.
If issue still persists:
Before installing, it’s a good idea to uninstall all existing versions of Office to avoid conflicts.
Here’s how:
- Open the Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
- Look for any version of Microsoft Office or Office apps, right-click, then choose Uninstall. Please uninstall all Office apps.
- Once that’s done, restart your computer just to be safe.
Then, to reinstall Microsoft Office:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
- Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your license.
- Find your Microsoft 365 Subscription and click the "Install".
- That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.
If anything’s unclear or the "Install" option still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!
