    Refer to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/switch-between-microsoft-365-subscriptions

If your needs change, you have the option to switch between Microsoft 365 subscriptions. For example, if you have Microsoft 365 Personal and want to share Microsoft 365 apps and other subscription benefits with your household or team, you can switch to Microsoft 365 Family. Or, you might have Microsoft 365 Basic with 100 GB of cloud storage, but decide you want 1 TB and the additional benefits of a Microsoft 365 Family or Personal subscription. If you want to use AI tools more, you can upgrade to Microsoft 365 Premium.

How you switch subscriptions depends on if you're switching to a plan with more or fewer features.

    Tip

The steps below describe switching between Microsoft 365 subscriptions for home use. To switch to a business subscription, see Switch to a Microsoft 365 business subscription.

How to change to a different Microsoft 365 subscription

    Note

If you purchased your Microsoft 365 subscription from a 3rd party billing partner such as the Apple Appstore, Google Play, or certain retail partners, they provide subscription management services such as cancelling, renewing, changing your payment method, or switching plans. These 3rd party billing partners may or may not provide the ability to switch to another subscription. Please contact their support for more information by navigating to account.microsoft.com/services and click on the Manage link for your Microsoft 365 subscription.

Switch to a Microsoft 365 subscription with more features

To switch to a Microsoft 365 subscription with more features, you buy another subscription and start using its benefits straight away.

Buy the Microsoft 365 subscription that you want to switch to. Make sure to use the same Microsoft account as your current subscription when you do this.

    Check prices

The remaining days on your current subscription will automatically convert and get added to your new subscription. The exact number of days will depend on what subscription you're moving from and what you're moving to.

    Note

Depending on the subscription you're moving to, the adjusted number of days added to your new subscription may result in less time being added than the amount of time remaining on your original subscription.
