We have encountered a rendering issue in Word for Web.
The same document is displayed correctly in Microsoft Word Desktop (Version 2607), but when opened in Word for Web, several graphical elements are missing.
The issue was reproduced using the latest version of Google Chrome.
Expected behavior
Word for Web should render the document identically to Word Desktop.
Actual behavior
The following elements are visible in Word Desktop but are missing in Word for Web:
The text content is displayed correctly, but some graphical objects are not rendered.

Probably such documents should be created in Word for Web, using the available features.
If some elements disappear even in this case, then it is probably a defect.
To see an accurate representation of a document in Word for the web, click File > Print and look at the preview.

I understand that the document displays correctly in Word Desktop, while several graphical elements such as the company logo, footer graphics, signature line, and decorative border elements are missing or positioned differently in Word for the web.
This behavior is by design, as Word for the web does not support or render every advanced layout and graphical feature in exactly the same way as the Word desktop application. Documents containing complex objects, floating graphics, signature lines, text boxes, or precisely positioned header and footer elements may therefore appear differently in the browser.
Microsoft recommends using the "Open in Desktop" command for features or document elements that are not fully available in Word for the web. For documents where the layout must remain exact, particularly official documents intended for printing the desktop application provides the most complete rendering experience.

As a temporary approach, please open the document library in SharePoint or OneDrive, select the document, choose Open, and then select "Open in app". You may also export the correctly rendered document to PDF from Word Desktop when a fixed layout is required for viewing or distribution.
I understand that having the document appear consistently across both experiences would be preferable. However, due to the current feature and rendering differences between Word for the web and Word Desktop, the desktop application remains the recommended option for this type of complex document layout.

We understand that Word for the web does not support all editing features available in the desktop application. However, our concern is not related to editing functionality but to document rendering.
The attached screenshots show that multiple graphical elements (header image, footer graphics, decorative shapes, and the signature line) are completely missing when the document is opened in Word for the web, while they are displayed correctly in Word Desktop.
Our software integrates with Microsoft 365 using the Cloud Storage Partner Program (SCPP) and allows users to edit Word documents directly in Word for the web. Because of this integration, asking users to switch to the desktop application is unfortunately not a viable workaround for our scenario.
This rendering limitation has a significant impact on our solution, as users expect documents opened through our application to be displayed correctly in the web editor.
Could you please confirm whether this specific rendering behavior is officially expected ("by design") for these document elements, or whether it should be considered a rendering defect?
If this is expected behavior, could you identify which document object types or Word features are not supported by Word for the web and are causing these elements not to be rendered?
We can also provide the original document through another channel if it would help reproduce and investigate the issue.

I understand that your concern is specifically about document rendering, rather than the availability of editing features, and that asking users to switch to the desktop application is not a practical workaround for your solution.
You are also correct that the general feature-comparison documentation does not, by itself, confirm whether every missing element shown in your screenshots is expected behavior. However, similar rendering differences between documents created in Word Desktop and opened in Word for the web have also been reported by other users. Microsoft’s official documentation states that the document opened in Word for the web is the same document opened in the Word desktop application, but that some features work differently between the two environments.
