Hi, Using MS 365 Basic on my desktop PC, when I click on a word (.docx) file, as an example, I get an error message "You have a newer version of 365 and office installed" and the file doesn't open. Have I installed it incorrectly?

The Microsoft 365 Basic subscription entitles you to 100GB of OneDrive storage, access to Outlook, and the use of the free online versions of Office apps in a web browser, it does not include installing the Office apps locally on your PC, it is only the Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscriptions that include installing the Office apps locally on your PC.

If you log into your Microsoft account on this link, is the Microsoft 365 Basic subscription the only version linked to your account.
