    1

Do you see a circle cursor with arrows inside it on the web page, if so, press your mouse wheel to disable automatic scrolling.

    2

If that was not the problem, if you have a game controller connected to your PC, that is the usual cause of the automatic scrolling.

    3

If that was not the problem, check the up arrow, down arrow, Home and End keys on your keyboard to see if one of them is stuck.

    4

If that was not the problem.

Open Command Prompt, then paste in this command and press Enter:

    msdt.exe -id KeyboardDiagnostic

Run that Keyboard Troubleshooter to see if that can solve the problem.

    .

If that does not resolve this for you

    Open Device Manager

    Expand the Keyboards section

Right click your keyboard and choose 'Uninstall'

    Then restart your PC

If the page keeps scrolling after you stop using the mouse, it's usually caused by one of these issues:

    1. Mouse wheel problem
      • Check if the scroll wheel is stuck or overly sensitive.
        • Try another mouse. If the issue disappears, your mouse is likely faulty.
        1. Auto Scroll is enabled
          • In Windows browsers, clicking the middle mouse button (scroll wheel) enables auto-scroll.
            • Click the middle mouse button again or press Esc to disable it.
            1. Browser extension
              • Open the browser in Incognito/InPrivate mode (extensions are usually disabled).
                • If the issue stops, disable extensions one by one to find the culprit.
                1. Touchpad or touchscreen
                  • If you're on a laptop, temporarily disable the touchpad and see if the scrolling stops.
                  1. Browser issue
                    • Try a different browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox).
                      • If it only happens in one browser, reset or reinstall that browser.
    2. Mouse settings
      • Go to Settings --> Bluetooth & devices -->Mouse.
      • Reduce the number of lines scrolled at a time.
      • Turn off Scroll inactive windows when hovering over them and test.
