1, I currently have Outlook, One Note, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Do I still need to get Microsoft 365 for other office products?

2, Do I need to get Family plan for 2PC's, when one PC has multiple users?

Answer 1

Yep - you need a Microsoft 365 subscription for core Office desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Outlook and OneNote alone do not include the desktop versions of these applications. A standalone Copilot license also does not provide access to Word, Excel, or PowerPoint - Copilot features work within the Microsoft applications that are already licensed.

Microsoft 365 licensing is assigned to users, not devices. If multiple people use the same PC and each person wants their own Windows login, Office apps, settings, and private files, each user needs their own Microsoft account and an appropriate Microsoft 365 license.

A Microsoft 365 Family plan is designed for this scenario because it allows sharing the subscription with up to six people. Each person receives their own account, access to the Office desktop applications, and separate OneDrive storage while using the same PC or different devices.
