Title: Windows Kits folder disappeared and Microsoft GameInput folder location changed after Windows 11 update KB5101684

Hello everyone,I would like to ask about a folder location change that occurred on my Windows 11 system.

This morning at around 11:53 AM, I noticed that the following folder was no longer present:C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits

I did not manually delete this folder, and I did not perform any cleanup, uninstall, or system optimization operations before this happened.

At the same time, I noticed that the contents related to Microsoft GameInput, which were previously located under:C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft GameInput

now appear to be located under:C:\Program Files\Microsoft GameInput

I would like to know whether this change is related to the recent Windows 11 update:KB5101684

I also checked my desktop computer and found that Microsoft GameInput is also installed under:C:\Program Files\Microsoft GameInput

instead of:C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft GameInput

Therefore, I would like to confirm whether this is the expected installation location for the newer version of the Microsoft GameInput component.

My current system status:

I did not manually delete the Windows Kits folder.

Both my laptop and desktop computers can boot normally.

Windows Update is working normally.

No errors are shown in Windows Update.

Games and applications are currently running without noticeable problems.

My questions are:

Is the disappearance of:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits a normal situation?

Could this be caused by a Windows component update, servicing operation, or changes introduced by KB5101684?

If the Windows Kits folder is no longer present, will it affect normal Windows usage, games, or applications?

Is the new installation path:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft GameInput

the normal location for the current Microsoft GameInput component?

Has anyone else noticed similar folder changes after installing KB5101684?

I would appreciate any information or suggestions on how to verify whether this is a normal Windows component change.

This appears to be normal and does not indicate Windows corruption.

The C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits folder belongs to optional developer components such as the Windows SDK, WDK, or Visual Studio. It is not required for normal Windows use, games, or regular applications. If the SDK component was updated or removed, the folder may disappear.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft GameInput is also a normal location for the newer GameInput component, including systems where the folder contains both x64 and x86 subfolders.
