Azure VM backup costs

Hi,

Pretty silly question probably but I've read the document below about the costs of Azure VM backup but I'm a bit confused about the "+ storage consumed" costs. I've got a Standard_D2s_v3 Linux VM with one 30GB disk. According to the document this will cost me €4.2833 p/month (West EU region) but what about the "storage consumed" costs? Can anyone explain me how to interpret this? I assume it directly correlates with the number of backups I keep and retention policy? But how do I calculate or estimate the costs up front for my boss? Thanks in advance.
