Automatically Mutes Itself

I have an ASUS Vivobook S 14 that wont stop turning its volume down to zero on its own. It doesn't look like anything is stuck in the F1 or F2 keys to make it mute or turn itself down like that, but the problem feels like a mechanical one. The troubleshooter tried to automatically unmute it, but the volume shot right back down and the volume bar is stuck on the screen. Has anyone had this before, and if so, how did you fix it?

Try booting into Safe Mode and see if the volume still drops to zero on its own there.

If it stops happening in Safe Mode, that confirms it’s a third-party app or driver causing it.

If it still happens even in Safe Mode, that points more toward a stuck physical key or a hardware issue.
