Could you clarify a few things first?
- Are you using the built-in microphone or an external microphone/headset?
- Did the issue start after a Windows update or any recent changes?
- Under Settings > System > Sound > Input, does the microphone show any input when you speak?
In the meantime, make sure microphone access is enabled under Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone, then run the Audio troubleshooter in Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
