alias email address not working

Question

I have an alias email attached to ******@outlook.com named ******@heavygate.co.uk. 72 hours ago that email no longer sent or was delivered, and the test emails I tried don't appear on your webmail either. Since then, I have tried all I know to correct this, and sought online help but each hopeful trail leads to a dead end.

Please can you fix this? As the test mails were not shown on wenmail and I received no undelivered messages, I feel the fault lies in a server setting and not at my device.

Please investigate .

In the kast 24 hours, strangely, I have received 3 randonly timed emails addressed to sharon@heavygate, but there is no logic to how this has happened. I can still neither send nor receive in heavygate.co.uk??

Hello Charlie,

I check the MX record of the heavygate.co.uk and your email service provider is NOT Microsot.

Microsoft's web platform www.outlook.com is only for email domains native to Microsoft, such as outlook.com, hotmail,com, live.com and msn.com. The web platform is NOT an email client app and cannot host emails address from other service providers.

An alias only means "username", meaning you can use the email address as username to sign into your Microsoft account, but it doesn't mean it redirects your actual email traffic to Microsoft. Your email traffic is still being hosted by your actual email provider. However, you should be able to use New Outlook or Classic Outlook email client app to check emails for your heavygate.co.uk email address.
