Question

I’m stuck on the login screen, and the only way to access my account is through a face or pin number. Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten my pin number. Can you please guide me on how to change it to use a password instead?

May I please know if you have the option to reset your PIN from the Windows Hello Sign-in Screen?

Select the 'I forgot my PIN' option on the Sign-in screen, and follow the prompts to reset your PIN.

If you are having trouble resetting your PIN, try booting your PC in safe mode, where you can use your password to sign in. Then, you can reset your PIN from there.

To boot your PC in safe mode -

1. Turn on your computer. When you see your PC manufacturer's logo or Windows logo, turn off your computer by holding the power button on the device.
2. Repeat the same process two times.
3. On the third time, allow your device to boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) mode.

From there, select Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.

Press F4 to boot into safe mode.

If you are logged in successfully there, try resetting your PIN.
