It is the 3rd day of august and Copilot says I'm almost at my task limit for the month. There must be an error. Please reset the task limit. I've never seen this before and have used Copilot extensively.

    Hi KimM,

I can understand how confusing it is to receive a limit warning only a few days into the month, especially if you've been using Copilot normally. That said, before getting further, I must note that Microsoft Q&A is just a community forum. Contributors here can give troubleshooting suggestions, but does not have access to individual Copilot accounts nor the ability to reset task limits.

Based on current Microsoft documentation, some Copilot plans have a fixed monthly task allowance. Those limits normally reset on the next monthly cycle, but sometimes it doesn't start/end following the calendar months but its own cycle. Some users have also reported seeing task-limit messages earlier than expected, even when they hadn't used many tasks. Consider checking:

    1. If the message specifically mentions Tasks, Agents, Researcher, or another feature.
    2. Sign out of Copilot and sign back in, then recheck the usage message.
    3. If you're using Copilot web, try the Copilot app. And vice versa.
    4. Wait a few hours or a day to see if the record refresh.

Since there have been other recent reports of unexpected task-limit behavior, you may not be the only person experiencing this issue. If the warning persists and clearly appears inaccurate, report this so the engineering team can investigate the account-side usage records or check for server-side:

    • Via Copilot: Click Settings > Send Feedback > Describe your issue and attach proofs.
    • Contact Microsoft Support > sign into your account.
      • Type in your problem > click Get Help to make request
      • Scroll down and click Contact Support to connect to agent
      • Select category > continue and you should be added to a chat.
      • If you don't see the option, go through another category and escalate.

Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, so if the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.

I wish I could provide more direct help. However, if this involves back-end validation, community members do not have access to such data and service tools to proceed further.
