Setting up future meetings with participants using Teams calendar or Outlook integration
Good day Patricia,
Thank you for sharing your concern. I understand this is your first time using Microsoft Teams and you have an interview coming up soon. I'd be happy to help you get prepared so you can join the meeting with confidence.
Since you didn't mention whether you're using the Teams app on Windows or macOS, here are a few notes to help you prepare for your interview on Teams:
Step 1: Update your Teams app
Open Teams app and sign in > Select Update near your profile picture.
Check for available updates and install them if prompted.
Restart Teams after the update is complete.
Step 2: Test your microphone, speaker and camera
In Teams, go to More options > Settings > Devices.
Confirm the correct microphone, speaker and camera are selected.
Select Make a test call and follow the prompts.
Verify that your microphone, speakers and camera are working properly.
Step 3: Join the interview from the Teams invitation link
Open the meeting invitation email > Select the Teams meeting link.
Open it in the Teams app when prompted.
Allow microphone and camera access if requested.
Review your audio and video settings.
Select Join now.
If you are placed in the lobby, please wait for the organizer to admit you to the meeting.
Note: I recommend opening the meeting link 10 to 15 minutes before the interview. If you can reach the lobby screen without issues, it means the meeting link and your devices are working correctly. You can then leave the meeting and join again at the scheduled time.
Workaround 1: If the Teams app doesn't work
You can use Teams on the web instead.
Open the meeting link.
Select Continue on this browser.
Join the meeting through your web browser instead.
Note: You may join the meeting using Teams on the web without signing in. If you'd rather join with your account, sign in to Teams on the web first, keep the Teams tab open and then click the meeting link to join.
Workaround 2: If the meeting invitation is missing or not working
Please contact the interview organizer and ask them to resend the Teams meeting invite.
You can also ask for the meeting ID and passcode if they are available.
Wishing you a successful interview tomorrow. I hope your Teams meeting goes smoothly and that everything works perfectly on the day. If you have any questions or need further support, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
