Cannot edit Word Document

Question

I transcribed a document using Word. Now when I attempt create a new line by pressing "enter" it opens up One Drive, It will not create a new line

Thanks for confirming. Since it follows the copied text, the document may contain damaged formatting or an embedded link.

Please try this:

• Open a new blank Word document.
• Copy the text from the affected document.
• In the new document, right-click and choose "Keep Text Only" under Paste Options.
• Press Enter and check whether it creates a new line normally.

This removes the original formatting but keeps the text.

If it still opens OneDrive, what exactly appears: a OneDrive folder, the OneDrive app, or a browser page?

Also, does this happen wherever you place the cursor, or only at a particular part of the document?

Please test this without copying the transcript:

• Open a completely blank Word document.
• Type a few words.
• Press Enter.

If Enter works normally, return to the transcribed document, press Ctrl+A, then press Ctrl+Shift+F9. This removes hyperlinks and unlinks fields that may have been carried over from the transcription. Then save it as a new .docx file and test again.

If Enter also opens OneDrive in the untouched blank document, press Windows key + R, enter winword /safe and click "OK." Test Enter again in Word Safe Mode.

Please let me know which test fails and whether OneDrive opens as a folder, an app window, or a web page.
