Got the unknown error, error code X0X when trying to activate an existing subscription. Also, a previous file I was editing was deleted, don't know whether it's related to this error, but I cannot activate the subscription I already paid for and I cannot retrieve that file.

    Hi there,

Please sign out of M365/Office and quit all your M365/Office apps.

    • On your MacBook, go to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/ and delete the folder Licensing if you can see it.
    • Restart your MacBook. This will clear any stuck activation tokens and then log into your Microsoft account that you used to buy the subscription.
    • Update your Office model/M365 model. Sometimes older builds fail. Locate Help > Check for Updates.

Was your file saved in OneDrive or was AutoSave on? If so, you maybe might be able to claim your file back.

Check OneDrive -> Recycle Bin Check Office -> Recent -> Deleted Check your Mac's Trash

If it wasn’t synced anywhere, recovery depends on whether macOS still has a copy in its local restore history.

    Hope this helps

    Regards,
    Maximus

Just to clarify what M365 model are you using? Is it M365 or are you using a older version (e.g Office 2019)

There are a couple of widely reported problems with the Office apps on an Apple Mac at the moment due to the July 13 update

At the top left of your Desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?
