    Hi ,

Search for msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here so we can see the correct laptop model or desktop configuration.

Check the location of the camera; if it doesn't have a privacy shutter, it might be partially covered.

Usually, to open it fully, there is a sliding mechanism at the top.

    Thanks

A half-visible camera view is usually caused by an app-specific issue, a driver problem, or camera hardware obstruction/fault.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Test the camera in the Windows Camera app.
      • Open Start > Camera.
      • If the preview looks normal there, the problem is with the app being used.
      • If the preview still shows only half the image, continue with the steps below.
    2. Restart the PC.
      • Select Start > Power > Restart.
      • A full restart is required; waking from sleep is not the same.
    3. Check for Windows and optional driver updates.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • If available, open Advanced options or View optional updates and install any camera driver updates.
      • Restart after installation.
    4. Update the camera driver.
      • Open Start > Device Manager.
      • Expand Cameras.
      • Right-click the camera > Update driver.
      • Select Search automatically for drivers.
      • Restart the PC after the update.
    5. If using an external camera, try a different USB port.
      • Then open Device Manager.
      • If the camera is missing, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
    6. If the issue started after an update, roll back the driver.
      • In Device Manager, right-click the camera > Properties.
      • Open the Driver tab.
      • Select Roll Back Driver if available.
      • Restart and test again.
    7. Reinstall the camera driver.
      • In Device Manager, right-click the camera.
      • Select Uninstall device.
      • If shown, select the option to remove the driver for this device.
      • Restart the PC, or in Device Manager select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
    8. Check the lens.
      • Make sure the camera lens is clean and not physically blocked.
    9. Run the camera troubleshooter.
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
      • Find Camera and select Run.

If the problem remains after testing in the Camera app, updating/reinstalling the driver, and checking the lens, that points to a hardware issue with the camera module.
