Error code 0x0 appears on word documents

when I open word documents it won't it won't let me edit them. if I open the bar saying there is subscription problem and needs to be activated. error code 0x0 comes up. I apparently have active subscription but if I try to update it dosnt work

To help investigate further, could you please provide the following information:

The version of Microsoft Word installed on your Mac: Open Word > Word menu > About Microsoft Word

Your macOS version: Apple menu > About This Mac

Please note that Microsoft currently supports Microsoft 365 Apps on macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, and the minimum supported Office version is 16.83 or later. If your macOS or Office version is below these requirements, activation and subscription-related issues may occur. You can read here for more details.

I will try and check what version but it is an old apple lap top and when I tried to update it said it is an old version but would update with an older version but it wouldn't do it

For example:

If you are using macOS 12, the last support version is 16.88.

If you are using macOS 13, the last support version is 16.101.

with my limited knowledge I think it is OS 11.7.11

I am so sorry, but if your Mac is running macOS 11.7.1, this is below Microsoft's minimum supported requirement for current Microsoft 365 Apps, which is macOS 12 (Monterey) or later.
