Excel VBA editor Mac

Using MS Excel (Version 16.111) on MacBook Air with Microsoft 365 Personal subscription desktop application. When I try to launch the VBA editor, the editor window pops up but is non-responsive. I can't move it, resize it, click any feature inside, can't add a module...absolutely no response to use input except force quitting with Cmd-Q. Why is this and how do I fix it?

    To resize the window you should only have to move the pointer to one of the edges of the window. When the pointer assumes this appearance User's image drag the edge l/r or up/dn depending on which edge. Use the Title Bar to drag the window to a different location.

    Insert a Module by going to Insert> Module in the menu bar or by using the Insert Module tool at the left end of the Ribbon User's image Most of the tools are inactive unless a Module window is open.

    Close the window by clicking the red stoplight n=button or just use the View Excel tool at the left of the Insert Module tool. You can go to Close & return to Excel in the Excel menu bar.

    If you have a problem doing so please explain in detail Be sure to include the present Version Numbers of your Office software & macOS. Also, when did you last restart the Mac? Is the problem in one specific workbook or in all?
