    Hi Luca,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

I found the issue after some more investigation. I found that my machine was saying it had the 25H2 installed, when in fact it wasn't installed! I installed a the 25H2 updates after some digging around and now I'm trying again the latest Preview update, fingers crossed it will now be OK this time.

    Hi Adrian Jones,

Sorry to hear you're running into this issue. To help narrow down the cause, could you provide a few more details?

    • Which Insider channel are you enrolled in (Canary, Dev, Beta, or Release Preview)?
    • What Windows build number was installed when the issue occurred?
    • What is the exact error message shown on the sign-in screen?
    • Are you signing in with a Microsoft account, local account, PIN, or Windows Hello?
    • Are you able to sign in using your account password instead of the PIN?
    • Does the issue persist if you boot into Safe Mode?

In the meantime, you can try selecting "I forgot my PIN" (if applicable) to recreate your Windows Hello credentials, or use Advanced Startup > Troubleshoot > Advanced options to access Safe Mode and verify whether the issue is related to the Insider build or the sign-in components.

Once you provide the build number and exact error message, we can investigate further and determine whether this is a known Insider Preview issue or a device-specific problem.
