how do i synch my android onedrive photos to my win 11 laptop

Hi,

On your Android phone, open OneDrive > profile picture > Settings > Camera backup, then turn Camera backup on. Make sure you use the same Microsoft account as your Windows 11 laptop. Microsoft’s guide is here:

On the Windows 11 laptop, sign in to OneDrive with the same account. The uploaded photos should then appear in the OneDrive folder in File Explorer. If you want them stored locally as well, right-click the photo folder and select “Always keep on this device.” See:

Please note that Android Camera Backup uploads photos to OneDrive; it is not a two-way sync with the phone.

Use OneDrive on the Android phone and the same Microsoft account on the Windows 11 laptop.

1. On the Android phone, open the OneDrive app and sign in.
2. In the OneDrive app, turn on Camera upload:
   • Tap the profile picture.
   • Go to Settings > Camera upload.
   • Turn on Camera upload.
   • If needed, also turn on Include videos.
3. On the Windows 11 laptop, open the Photos app.
4. In Photos, go to the OneDrive tab in the left pane.
5. Select Sign in and connect the same OneDrive account used on the phone.
6. After the phone uploads complete, the photos will appear in the Photos app on the PC.

Another way to access them on the laptop is through File Explorer:

1. Open File Explorer.
2. Select OneDrive on the left.
3. Sign in with the same Microsoft account.
4. Open Pictures > Camera Roll.

If photos are not appearing:

• Keep the OneDrive app open on the phone so camera roll can update.
• Check whether Camera upload is allowed on the phone.
• Make sure the OneDrive account shown under Camera upload account is the correct one.
• If using mobile data, check that camera upload on metered connections is not turned off.
• If upload is very slow, leave OneDrive running longer; large camera rolls can delay setup.
• If storage is full, new photos will not upload, edit, or sync.

If the OneDrive app shows Camera upload is paused on Android:

1. Go to Settings > Permission Manager > Files and Media.
2. Select OneDrive and choose Deny.
3. Return to the OneDrive app.
4. Go to Me > Settings > Camera upload.
5. Confirm the correct Camera upload account.
6. Turn Camera upload back on.

For only recent Android photos on Windows, Phone Link can also show them:

• Open Phone Link on the PC.
• Go to Settings > Features > Photos.
• Turn on Allow this app to show photos from my phone.
