Hello,

I have a storage problem on my school outlook account. I'm supposed to have 200 MB of storage, but a message says that 96% of my mailbox is full.

But as you can see in the image, I don't even have more than 10 MB of storage taken. Where does the rest come from?

Thank you.

    Dear Rose Amelia,

First of all, I want to begin by sincerely apologizing for the frustration and inconvenience this issue has caused you.

Before I proceed, could you please provide a screenshot of the storage warning and mailbox usage information you are seeing? I am unable to see the image referenced in your description.

Based on your description, one possible explanation is that your school tenant is using the Microsoft 365 Education pooled storage model, where storage is shared across services such as Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint. In some cases, users may receive storage-related warnings even when their individual mailbox contains very little data, particularly if the organization's shared storage pool is approaching its limit.

You can find the official Microsoft documentation here: Pooled storage management - M365 Education | Microsoft Learn

Additionally, please let me know whether other users in your school are experiencing the same issue. If multiple users are affected, your Microsoft 365 administrator may need to review the tenant's storage usage in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Reports > Storage to determine whether the institution's shared storage pool is nearing its capacity.

Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to your update.
