    Hi,

Are you trying to enable MSTSC (Remote Desktop) on the Windows 11 Home edition, or are you trying to connect to a PC running the Pro edition?

    Thanks.

Windows 11 Home can be used as the client to connect to another PC with Remote Desktop, but the PC being connected to must be running Windows Pro edition.

If Remote Desktop used to work and now it does not, the most likely cause is that the target PC is not set up for Remote Desktop anymore, or it is not running Pro edition.

Check the PC being connected to:

    1. Open Start > Settings > System > About.
    2. Under Windows specifications, check Edition.
      • The remote PC must show Windows Pro.
    3. Then go to Start > Settings > System > Remote Desktop.
    4. Turn Remote Desktop to On and confirm.
    5. Note the PC name.

Then from the Windows 11 Home PC:

    1. In the taskbar search box, type Remote Desktop Connection.
    2. Open it.
    3. Enter the PC name of the target PC.
    4. Select Connect.

If the PC being connected to is now Windows Home, Remote Desktop hosting will not work. In that case, upgrading that PC to Pro is required to allow incoming Remote Desktop connections.
