Cannot add a new payment method

I keep trying to add a new payment method, but it keeps repeating the message 'Check that the details in all fields are correct or try a different card.'

I have made sure the details are correct and tried multiple cards. This is frustrating because I cannot send or receive emails until I update payment for the Office 365. I have reached out to the customer service and have not received any feedback.

This is very frustrating because this is my main email and I am supposed to receive important emails that are time sensitive. I have been a paying customer for 20 years and the critical lack of support is simply unacceptable

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this and I understand that you have encountered an issue with your payment method on your account.

If your card is up to date and you have also verified that it is working for other purchase that you made online, please check and try this on a different browser or by using inPrivate or Incognito browsing and another alternative is to link your card to PayPal and use it as payment method. Please see below for other things that you can also check with regards to this issue.

    • Enter your name precisely as it appears on the card and only include your middle initial if it appears on your card.
    • If this is a company card, enter the company name as both a first name and last name. For example, if the company name is "My Company" you may split the company name into the first and last name fields.
    • If the company only has one name, for example, "Company," enter the company name in both the first and last name fields.
    • If you are asked to enter the address and it exceeds the Address 1 field, use the Address 2 field and do not shorten or abbreviate your address.
    • The card number and type cannot be edited, so if you make a mistake, you'll need to add a new one with the correct information. Other credit card information can be edited, such as billing address and expiration date.
    • Other factors such as, card issuer fraud block, 3-D Secure/online payment restriction, family-card name mismatch, temporary authorization hold, or regional/payment-method limitations can also affect this.

If you will still encounter an issue even after trying out the alternatives, you can reach out to the support team at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ and then click on Microsoft 365 and then click Get Home Support and then type in Billing question and click the blue button that says Sign in to contact Support and login and proceed from there.
