    Hii,

What version of MacOS are you using?

In this case, try uninstalling your current version of Office.

Access the App Store and check for updates; wait for the process to finish.

Access the link below and download the latest Office Mac package.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/download-office

After installation, look for Microsoft AutoUpdate, check for any pending updates, and wait for the Office software to update and launch.

Log in with the Microsoft account that has the Office license.

    Thanks

Hello Sam, I'm sorry to hear that you are having technical issues with Microsoft 365. With what you have shared, there might be a few causes for reading but not been able to edit. Check these first and then, if the problem persists continue this thread, I'll help you out.

    1. check your activation or license. make sure they match, specially the account on which you bought it with and the account on your pc/desktop.

2.check your cached credentials or corrupted activation files. (check in the folder where you installed the program)

    1. Check your windows profile settings. (specially installations settings or administrator privileges)
    2. check your internet when installing, make sure is running without interruptions.
    3. make sure you uninstall a previous program before the new one. (old license might be interfering)

    Hi Sam,

Based on your description, your microsoft license may not have been activated correctly.

Try these steps if you haven't already:

    1. Make sure you are signed in to Office with the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase or renew the Microsoft 365 subscription.
    2. Close all Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    3. Open an Office application, sign out of your account, then sign back in.
    4. Check your subscription status at https://account.microsoft.com/services and confirm that the subscription is active.
    5. If the issue persists, perform an Online Repair: Open Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select Microsoft 365 > Click Change > Choose Online Repair

Let me know if any of these steps worked for you.
