Scanner not working

I have a Canon TR8600 printer/scanner connected to my new Windows 11 pc. The printer works fine. The old scan driver doesn't appear. When I use Settings>....Printers & Scanners > Canon TR8600 series FAX (seems to be the only thing installed), under "More information" there's an entry for "Scanner not appearing". When I click on that, a page having to do with Windows Protected Print Mode appears, with no info about the scanner function. (And apparently this printer is not compatible with Window Protected Mode, so it appears to be turned off.) How do I get my scanner function back?

If your printer has fax capabilities, make sure you complete the fax setup when installing the software for your printer's make and model. I had to complete the fax setup on my HP to get my scanner enabled.

To scan, you can use the Windows Scan app: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9wzdncrfj3pv?hl=en-US&gl=US

    Hii,

Try you can use the Windows app: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9wzdncrfj3pv?hl=en-US&gl=US

Do the following: go to the Start menu > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Click on the printer/scanner > click on the "Scan settings" tab > "More scan and printer settings" > select the Brother printer > right-click and select "Start scan".

    or

If the scanner option is missing, do the following:

Go to Start menu > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > select a Canon printer > Remove device

    https://canada-canon.my.site.com/customersupport/article/0101084003

Access the link below, download the full driver package, and run it as an administrator.

Try scanning and see if it works using the top feeder.

While this is not a Microsoft website, it is the official site of [TS8600/Canon].

In Printers and Scanners, under Printer preferences, you can turn off Windows Protected Print Mode.

Do you want to try that?

See if your device's scanner works in Windows Protected Print Mode: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/modern-print/windows-protected-print-mode/windows-protected-print-mode

Scanning apps in the Microsoft Store work with many scanners.

    I use Windows Scan: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9wzdncrfj3pv?hl=en-US&gl=US
