Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Dear Nam,
Based on your description, the group continues to function normally for sending and receiving emails, but membership and ownership changes cannot be applied even when attempted by an administrator. This may indicate an issue with the group's underlying configuration or directory object.
For better assist, could you please confirm the following information?
- Is this a Microsoft 365 Group, Distribution List?
- When attempting to add or remove members, what exactly happens?
- Do you receive an error message? If so, please provide a screenshot or the full error text.
As a troubleshooting step, I recommend that your Microsoft 365 administrator attempt to manage the group through Exchange Online PowerShell to determine whether the issue is related to the administrative interface or the group object itself. Please refer to: Manage Microsoft 365 Groups with PowerShell
If the changes cannot be completed through PowerShell and no specific permission issue is identified, the group object may require further investigation by Microsoft support.
I do not recommend deleting the group at this stage, as removing it could also remove associated mailbox data, conversations, files, calendar items, and group membership depending on the group type.
If the issue persists after your administrator performs the above checks, please let me know. At that point, I can guide you through the next steps to gather the necessary information and engage the Product Support team for further investigation, as the issue may require a deeper review of the group's underlying configuration or directory object.
Thank you very much for your valuable time and your cooperation. Looking forward to your response!
