How can I export my codes from Microsoft Authenticator to another Authenticator?

Microsoft Authenticator does not support exporting one-time password (OTP) codes or OTP secrets to another authenticator app.

What is supported:

• Account backup and restore within Microsoft Authenticator.
• Password export only, for saved passwords in the autofill feature.

If the goal is moving to a new phone:

• On Android, open Microsoft Authenticator > Settings > turn on Cloud Backup > select a Microsoft personal account > OK.
• On iOS, enable iCloud Drive, iCloud Keychain, iCloud Backup, then turn on Authenticator in Saved to iCloud.
• Keep the old phone until sign-in is confirmed on the new phone.

Important limits:

• Backup and restore only works on the same device type. Backups from iOS cannot be restored on Android.
• For work or school accounts, only the account name is backed up. Sign-in is required again after restore.
• If a passkey was saved only on the old phone, a new passkey must be added on the new phone.

If the goal is moving to a different authenticator app:

• There is no built-in export for OTP accounts from Microsoft Authenticator to Google Authenticator or another authenticator.
• Those accounts must be re-added individually in the target authenticator using each service’s original MFA setup process.
