Hi there,

My son recently separated my email address from his xbox account. I have since had no emails (over a week) and when I try to send an email it defaults to his email address and will not let me send from mine. The problem is the same on my phone email app which is linked to the same email address.

My email address is @hotmail.com and his is @outlook.com

I have tried for the past two hours following co-pilot and microsoft prompts but to no avail.

Please can someone help me sort.

Please check your Outlook email settings and confirm that your email address is set as the default sender. If by separated, you mean that he went to the Microsoft Account Page at https://account.live.com/names/manage and "Removed" your hotmail.com alias - then I am very sorry, but that alias is gone and can not be recovered.

This is a huge hole in Microsoft Account Security that many, many, people have fallen into. I realize that this will be no help to you, but to perhaps keep someone else from falling into this same hole, I suggest that you Vote for and Comment on this Feature Request.
