Every browser I try has been randomly crashing since the latest update. I have tried clearing the cache and data, and uninstalling and reinstalling the browser. I have tried Chrome and Firefox. THEY KEEP CRASHING. It has happened since the update earlier in the month, and it is VERY irritating. How can I fix this.

    Hi, good day!

Could you please provide the following details?

    • What Windows version and OS build are you currently running? Press Windows key + R to open Run, type winver, and post a screenshot of the result.
    • Which Windows update was installed just before the crashes started? You can check Settings > Windows Update > Update history.
    • Does the browser crash immediately after opening, or only when performing a particular action?
    • Do other applications crash or become unresponsive as well?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I recommend performing a Clean Boot to determine whether a third-party service or startup application is conflicting with the browsers.

    Perform a Clean Boot

Determine whether a background program or a software conflict is causing the issue.

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: msconfig

    Press Enter

Select System Configuration > go to the Services tab.

(Important) Select and make sure to put a check mark on "Hide all Microsoft services"

    Click Disable all.

Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all the unnecessary services running there. Restart your computer.

Please check the support article at the link below for more details.

I look forward to your update and am willing to collaborate with you until we resolve the issue. Keep me posted by clicking "Add comment" below.

Yeah, I don't use Edge, so this isn't an answer for me, but I have tried all these steps for Chrome, and when I switched to Firefox to see if it would be fixed, it was not.
